Bryan County Children’s Fund Christmas Angel Program is a non-profit program designed to assist and support needy families in Bryan County. The organization works to ensure that no child in Bryan County is without a Christmas. The organization has been providing holiday gifts for Bryan County families since 2003. The group provided Christmas gifts for over 603 children in 2018.
With help from the community, including local churches, social service agencies, and the school system, the group is able to provide food, clothes, and toys to qualifying families. Applications are distributed and referrals are taken from local agencies. Families are eligible based on their financial need. Applications are available October 1 until November 15. Applications can be completed at the Bryan County Family Connection offices in Pembroke and Richmond Hill. Bryan County School Counselors and Social Workers also have applications available.
Resources are stream-lined through donations and sponsorships. Bryan County citizens help by adopting a child or family, making a direct monetary donation, or donating clothes and toys to the organization. This year, all donations should be made by December 19 to ensure each child receives gifts. A golf tournament, The Santa Scramble, sponsored by the Good Ol’ Boys Organization of Richmond Hill, is held each year in November and every dollar raised goes to assist families in need.
If you would like to adopt a child in need or volunteer to help with shopping, bagging, or distributing the gifts, please calls Bryan County Family Connection Coordinator Wendy Sims at 653-3824. Checks can be made payable to Bryan County Children’s Fund and mailed to PO Box 1239 Richmond Hill, GA 31324.
